EnVerea is a placentino group of folk music that arose in 2011, joining the popular tradition of Extremadura, with melodies and rhythms open to the world, getting with the romances, jotas and tunes of our grandparents, a happy, fresh and enthusiastic music. In their themes they evoke past times of the people that throughout history have been forging Extremadura, studying, disseminating and promoting the musical heritage of Extremadura.
In their beginnings, they began to work with songbooks from Extremadura, among which stand out those of Manuel García Matos or Bonifacio Gil, in addition to recordings and different materials. Over the years they have participated in numerous festivals, among which should be noted: Zamora Open Stage, Etnohelmántica Festival of Salamanca, International Folk Festival Plasencia, FolkezBlai in Ermua, Urdufolk of Orduña, Ibórica Folk, …, as well as numerous performances both within the Extremadura region and outside it.
They have participated in different radio programmes, such as Radio 3 of Radio Nacional de España, Radio Círculo del Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, Radio Crónica Folk Musical, Onda Cero,…
In 2013 they recorded in a professional way their first work titled “Hileras”, which is mastered by Suso Ramallo. And in 2017 they launch their second work “De Jarana” a work full of feeling and dedication, based on the tradition of Extremadura, in its festivals, myths and legends that have been transmitted from parents to children, in its music all have a place, whether pastors, clergy, pedigüeños, farmers or pilgrims ….., is the most popular expression originating from a region that emanates from the feeling and passion for its roots.
