Juan Carlos Delgado Expósito, born in Fregenal de la Sierra in 1963, has had a passion for the flora and fauna of our most characteristic ecosystem, the dehesa, from an early age.

He has worked on numerous censuses of different species of birds and mammals in Extremadura, the latest work in which he has collaborated being the IV National Otter Survey 2017; he has participated in books such as “Remarkable trees of Extremadura”, “The sacred forest”, …, being the author of “The wolf in the Sierras del Sur” and “Trees in Fregenal de la Sierra 1668-2008”, among other works. He has also been the author of various publications on nature in Extremadura, in different regional and national media.

This naturalist, nature, landscape and landscape photographer has won several awards for different works in the world of photography, including first prize in the “Museo del Jamón de Monesterio”, second prize in “Oliva y su Dehesa” and first prize in the “El cerdo ibérico en la dehesa” competition at the Jerez de los Caballeros Ham Fair. In 2016 he won the regional photography prize in the black and white section at the XXXIV Certamen Villa de Cabeza del Buey.
