Anís Guateque is an authentic cumbia band based in Madrid. Their sound stems from the fusion of Latin American music and Iberian folklore. A vibrant symbiosis that explores the meeting point between two sister cultures, weaving a musical dialogue all of their own.

From this fusion emerges a fresh and distinctive sound, where echoes of tradition —copla, tonada and popular songs— intertwine with the rhythmic foundation of cumbia, merengue and salsa.

A shared, intergenerational dance that turns every concert into a collective celebration.

In 2024, they released their debut album, Si la Cumbia Fuera Flor, recorded at the iconic Infinity Studios. On this album, cumbia is interpreted from the streets of Madrid, bringing together members from different parts of the world who find common ground in the language of the ‘parquecito’, the street and neighbourhood life in Madrid. It is traditional cumbia, yes, but filtered through an urban and authentic lens.

Throughout 2026, the band will release their second album: Manojo de Oportunidades. Recorded live during a creative retreat in Segovia, the album stems from the band members’ desire to reflect their bond and friendship in a shared living environment. Produced by the renowned Claudius Rieth (Chico Trujillo, Inti-Illimani Histórico), the album embraces greater experimentation with folk music, whilst retaining the festive spirit of cumbia and the fusion of Latin music that characterises the group.
