The Barbuquejo Cultural Association has been working for over 25 years to preserve and promote the folklore of Extremadura. Among its most notable projects is its Children’s and Youth Group, which was revived in 2015 to pass on to new generations a love of the music, dance and traditions of our region.
Comprising more than 30 boys and girls, this group represents part of the future of folklore in our region. As well as taking part in festivals and performances, they play an active role in preserving popular traditions such as the Cruces de Mayo, the Gachas festival, Candlemas, Jueves Lardero and the Three Kings’ Parade.
Through their enthusiasm and dedication, they help to keep the customs and folklore of Extremadura alive.
