The folkloric Ballet “Alas de Mi Patria” of Tierras Blancas was founded on July 15th 2004, with the hope of rescuing, cultivating and spreading its traditional and Latin American dances. It has a stable cast of 35 dancers between 15 and 30 years of age and a musical cast between 22 and 35 years of age. Discipline, teaching their cultures, love and respect are fundamental values for the artistic company. Its General Director is Mr. Jesús Castillo Rojas, an outstanding choreographer of the region of Coquimbo, instructor of different educational establishments of the region and winner of outstanding prizes such as “Best Choreographer of Folkloric Dances” awarded by the Council of Culture.
With 18 years of artistic life this company has performed in different places, leaving the name of its locality very well placed at regional, national and international level. It has performed on important stages and in countries such as Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador and Mexico. It is also the official folkloric ballet of the Monumental Stage of the Pampilla de Coquimbo, which is why it is the ballet in charge of performing the official openings of each night.
They are also the organisers of the International Folklore Festival “Entre Mar y Cordillera”, representing Chile in each regional edition.
