Camerata Bolero is yet another example of the musical culture of Jerez de los Caballeros. It was founded in 1995. Since its inception, the group has consisted of around thirty singers, predominantly male, united by their shared love of music, and accompanied by a ensemble of string, wind and percussion instruments.
The group was formed with the aim of reviving traditional Spanish and Latin American music (boleros, habaneras, isas, Cuban sones, criollo waltzes, etc.), to contribute to the development of Jerez de los Caballeros’s twinning arrangements with various Latin American and Portuguese cities for the study and promotion of their folklore, and to promote the rich yet forgotten folklore of our region of Extremadura.
Since their debut at Christmas 1995, they have given more than two hundred performances across Spain and in the various autonomous communities, enjoying considerable success with audiences and critics alike. Notable among these are their appearances on Canal Extremadura, the Sierra International Festival, the Gran Teatro de Cáceres, the Alcazaba in Mérida, the López de Ayala Theatre in Badajoz, and those held in Tenerife, where they were accompanied by the group Los Sabadeños, with whom they share a close friendship.
In 2025, the band celebrated the 30th anniversary of its formation with a concert tour across Extremadura, during which they performed their most iconic songs.
