Compañía Folclórica Matambú in its trajectory of cultural and artistic management for 25 years, has managed to contribute to the rescue of popular culture, through research, teaching and projection of its customs, beliefs and Costa Rican traditions for: the strengthening of values, the safeguarding of its immaterial Cultural Heritage, the enrichment of the cultural heritage and the respect of cultural rights.
With the passing of time the Company has undergone a series of transformations that have made it a reference and inspiration, with a unique seal as a worthy representative of cultural expression. Matambú is committed to providing a space for lovers of traditions to develop in the Costa Rican and human artistic and cultural sphere, establishing a position of commitment to popular cultures and strengthening cultural identity.
Compañia Folclórica MATAMBÚ is a group founded on December 8, 1997, with a human team of wide knowledge in the study, rescue, promotion and artistic projection of popular culture. It made its debut in March 1998 at the International Seminar of the National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers, at the Teatro Fanal CENAC.
They have toured internationally in countries such as Portugal, France, Panama and Canada, among others.
