El Nido’s music is based on the sounds and rhythms of traditional music. Thus, their songs stand out for their modern and updated approach to folklore, with messages of vitality and reflection in the lyrics.

Refugios a cielo abierto’ is nourished by the sensations and emotions that are produced by returning to the territory of origin, and by rethinking the modern rhythm of life, which tends to lead us to surpass all our limits of self-demand. The message that breathes through these ten new refuges invites us to let go of our burdens and get active in the search for another way of living.

The album was produced by Diego Galaz (Fetén Fetén Fetén, Fito y Fitipaldis, Jorge Drexler) and features collaborations with David Ruiz (La M.O.D.A.), Ari Rubio (TéCanela) and Orégano (a symbol of the Castilian musical tradition).

Cuts of the calibre of “Aire”, “Ícaros” and “Saltar”, which have been endorsed by publications such as MondoSonoro and Jenesaispop, as well as being played on the most important radio stations in the country, and reflected in programmes such as Hoy por hoy on Cadena Ser and Hoy empieza todo on Radio 3, along with programmes such as La tronera, Zona Zero and Un disco al día by the journalist Fernando Neira.

The tour of the new LP has started with great success, having sold out in Burgos, Valladolid and Amayuelas de Abajo (Palencia). The artists GUADA, Andrea Santiago, Néboa and the Galician duo Caamaño & Ameixeiras will be joining in several of the dates.
