EI Shams is a social club located in the area of Heliopolis in the city of Cairo that was established in 1970, and 5 years later, in 1975, the Shams Ballet Group was founded.
Today it has grown into a dance school with around 500 dancers of all ages.
The group has participated in numerous performances, locally, nationally and internationally. It has been chosen to participate in many important national events, such as the inauguration of the African football sports cup and many other events. He has also participated in the Ismailia folk dance festival in Egypt, which in the 1990s, was one of the largest folk festivals in the world.
Abroad, it has participated in numerous festivals in countries such as Germany, Croatia, Poland, Tunisia, Turkey (several times), among others.
The dance group is considered to be one of the most important groups in Cairo, which has in its repertoire both folk dances and classical ballet performances.
