The Grupo de Danças e Cantares Etnográfico do GAIO, was created in 2002 to animate internal events of the GAIO Association – “Grupo de Amigos Incondicionais de Orvalho”. However, this aspect of the association was growing and in 2015/2016, an ambition of a few years ago occurred. As an objective, document and perpetuate songs, costumes, habits, uses and customs, traditions and handicrafts, which in times characterized the life of their land and its inhabitants, leading to a growth of its representative quality.
He has performed in various festivals and festivals at national and international level. He has two CD`s recorded in 2007 and 2022.
It organises two annual festivals: one on the first weekend of June and the other on the third Saturday of August.
The costumes were collected in the village of Orvalho and surrounding villages. The collection of the costumes took place in the village of Orvalho.
