The Ibai Lorak dantza taldea dance group was founded in Zalla (Bizkaia, the Basque Country) in 1965, against a backdrop of the revival and reaffirmation of the Basque language and culture during the final years of Franco’s dictatorship, with the aim of preserving and promoting Basque culture through its traditional music and dances.
Through performances, festivals, pilgrimages and a range of cultural activities, we strive to keep our traditions alive, revive our cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations.
Our repertoire includes dances from all regions of Euskal Herria, reflecting the richness and diversity of our country.
In 2025, the group celebrated its 60th anniversary, a milestone that reflects six decades of dedication and commitment to Basque culture and to promoting our heritage.
Currently, Ibai Lorak Dantza Taldea comprises around 40 members, aged between 6 and 40, all united by a passion for dance and a desire to share our traditions both within and beyond the Basque Country
