Violinist, singer-songwriter, and composer. From a very young age, music and expression through it became a way of life. Composition through music and words is a way of living.
Folklore is the first contact that children in rural areas have with music, dance… The first songs, like a mother tongue and vernacular, are what we connect with during our childhood in the village. In this way, we become part of a community with an endemic identity, sounds, and customs, and from there we present ourselves and project ourselves to the world. Throughout my musical and artistic career, I have participated in numerous projects and musical groups in Extremadura. And now, after developing two of my own musical projects born from my life experiences: From Caterpillar to Butterfly and Sonority, I want to reconnect with my roots.
“Vernáculas” is a round trip to create the new music that resides within a 21st-century rural woman, with many sonic imprints in her DNA that blend with all those learned and encountered throughout her musical journey.
This new work is an introspective project through which she descends to the root that identifies us as rural communities. And down there, in the depths, we discover that we are united in a single, primordial sprout…
