An interest in good music led to the creation of the AMADEUS Chamber Choir in 1996, a group made up of ten female voices with close ties to polyphonic singing since childhood.
During this time, they have performed both in their own town and other nearby towns, as well as in the cities of Badajoz, Mérida, Seville and Jerez de la Frontera.
In 2006, invited by the Town Council of Fregenal de la Sierra, they participated in the recording of the album Fregenal. Sentimientos, together with other musical groups from Fregenal.
In 2012, they recorded their first solo album, entitled Esencia, which features a sample of different musical genres.
The choir’s performances have been broadcast on various radio stations, such as Onda Cero and Cadena SER, and they have performed live on TVE’s Sunday mass programme.
Their extensive polyphonic repertoire includes different musical periods and styles, performing scores composed from the 16th century to the present day, including Gregorian chants, film soundtracks, folk songs, South American songs, popular Christmas carols and other scores by great masters. In recent years, songs such as Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, Violeta Parra’s Gracias a la Vida and Lennon and McCartney’s Let it be, among others, have been added to the repertoire.
