The interest in good music led to the birth, in 1996, of the AMADEUS Chamber Choir, a group made up of ten female voices closely linked to polyphonic singing since their childhood.

From its beginnings, the taste for musical performance at an extraordinary level and an important spirit of self-improvement, led the group to offer performances, both in their town, Fregenal de la Sierra, and in the cities of Badajoz, Seville and Jerez de la Frontera.

In 2012 they recorded their first solo album, entitled Esencia, directed by the Frexnense pianist Pablo Márquez Carrascal.

The choir’s performances have been broadcast on various radio stations, such as Onda Cero and Cadena SER, and it has performed live on the Sunday mass on TVE’s Channel 2, as part of the programme El Día del Señor (The Day of the Lord).

His wide polyphonic repertoire includes different periods and musical styles, performing scores composed from the 16th century to the present day, including Gregorian chants, anonymous songs from different periods, choral fragments by Johann Sebastian Bach, film soundtracks, folk songs, with a special presence in his repertoire of compositions by the maestro Ruy-Díaz, so special in Fregenal, South American themes, popular Christmas carols and other scores by great masters.

New projects and new challenges mean that in November 2022, after twenty-six years of existence as a group, the Coro de Cámara Amadeus de Fregenal de la Sierra will acquire legal personality, becoming an association, thus initiating a new stage full of enthusiasm.
